In July of 2005, Branden Miller was diagnosed at nine months with a terminal disease known as Krabbe Leukodystrophy

Interesting Facts!

- The disease is usually life threatening.

- Infants with early-onset cases die before age 2. People who develop the disease at a later age have survived into adulthood with nervous system disease.

- One of the systoms "Failure to thrive" include: height, weight, and head circumference that do not match standard growth charts. Physical skills such as rolling over, sitting, standing and walking, mental and social skills, and secondary sexual characteristics are delayed or slow to develope.

  1. how could you stop this diorder from happing to ur youths that are born whith this disorder?can it be solved with surgery?

  2. Genetic counseling is recommended for people with a family history of Krabbe Disease, who are thinking of having children.
    A blood test can be done to see if you carry the gene for Krabbe disease...

    As for the surgery..
    Sometimes children can use adults bone marrow to replace their own. The procedure is called hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, but like i said it has risks

  3. There is no cure for this disorder, but is there has any medicine or something that can help these people live longer?
